Laboratory

Britannia Animal Hospital’s convenient diagnostic laboratory makes it quick and efficient to run a wide variety of tests. This includes onsite blood analysis panels for dogs and cats, as well as in-house cytology and urinalysis. Additional blood samples are sent to a trusted outside laboratory.

In many cases, we can have the answers we need in just a few minutes. This means we can establish a treatment plan before you and your pet even leave the exam room. 

Imaging

When a physical exam and lab testing aren’t enough to reach a diagnosis, we turn to imaging technology, including x-rays and ultrasound. These advanced tools allow us to evaluate the bones and internal organs, identifying injuries, diagnosing illness and determining its severity. 

Britannia Animal Hospital is also pleased to offer digital dental radiology, which helps us to quickly and accurately diagnose various oral conditions so they can be treated swiftly and effectively.

Our ultrasound services are performed in-house by a mobile ultrasound technologist, who comes right to our clinic. This is convenient for our clients and ideal for our patients, because it eliminates the need to bring your pet to an outside facility for testing.

Digital images can be evaluated by our doctors in real time or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.

Avian and Exotic Diagnostics

At Britannia Animal Hospital, we understand that animal companions come in all shapes, sizes, and species. That’s why we also offer diagnostic services for birds and other exotic creatures. Some testing is available in-house, while others are sent to our partner lab for processing.
