Emilie
Receptionist
Emilie joined our team in December 2023. She graduated from the Animal Care program at Sheridan College in 2021. Prior to joining Britannia Animal Hospital, she gained valuable knowledge at other clinics, interning at farms, teaching at a reptile zoo, and volunteering at a cat rescue (with a particular fondness for the senior cats). In her free time, she enjoys watching movies and continuing to volunteer. She currently resides with her fiancé and a household of pets consisting of two mice, two leopard geckos, a Pacman frog named Lilium and a sharpei dog named Uno.
Gloria
Receptionist
Gloria was born and raised in Southern Ontario. She was an only child, except for her feathered and furry siblings. This upbringing made Gloria realize how important it was for those with no voice to have an advocate. To her, animals have always been therapeutic, and the keeper of all her secrets.
Prior to joining Britannia Animal Hospital in 1995, Gloria had worked with the original practice owner at another clinic, so it was an easy transition. Professionally, she enjoys seeing the clients and their pets grow and change over the years. She also loves it when clients recognize her voice over the phone before she even has the chance to introduce herself!
Currently, Gloria has two cats: Luna and Kindle. Luna was adopted from a client at a young age and Kindle was rescued from a shelter in Orillia, where Gloria’s daughter had been volunteering. In the past, their home has also been shared with many other animals, including a miniature poodle, a labradoodle, a white capped Pionus, some bearded dragons, and a few teddy bear hamsters.

In her role as a veterinary assistant, Madelyn enjoys the opportunity to work with animals of varying species and discovering the different techniques for treating them.
Outside of work, Madelyn has one pet of her own: a sweet miniature dachshund named Dash, who loves to lay out in the sun on warm summer days, chase rabbits and squirrels around the backyard, and cuddle up on the couch at night.
